Abstract

Rising healthcare costs, aging populations, and the increasing complexity of comorbid conditions mean chronic wound care continues to be a significant clinical, social and economic challenge worldwide. In the UK alone, chronic wounds affect more than 2 million people, with annual treatment costs exceeding £5 billion.
