Abstract

The lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused people to reevaluate what they once took for granted. By analyzing at the written reviews and review scores of restaurant patrons, both pre-COVID-19 and post-reopening the research investigates how the act of dining out has changed in the minds of restaurant diners and learn about diners’ main concerns in post-reopening restaurant visits. The research encompasses 15,010 restaurants in 34 cities across 23 states within the United States of America. The findings show that the level of enjoyment has been reset, and the act of dining out is again a unique and exciting experience. Restaurant managers, owners, and servers who know what patrons are expecting, and how to provide them with the ideal experience, will create positive reviews and gain future customers.
