Résumé

The hospitality industry has been struggling with attracting and retaining quality employees . Labor force demographics in the hospitality industry are changing. The first wave of Generation Y started to enter the workforce and Generation Y is the fastest growing segment of today’s workforce. Even though several researchers have studied Generation Y as hospitality employees, limited research explored the importance of relation quality with colleagues and customers Generation Y. The Commitment - Trust (CT) theory suggests that relationship commitment and trust are ke y componen ts of successful relationships because they encourage cooperative behaviors to maintain long - term relationships . Several scholars found that bad internship experience is one of the significant factors caus ing young people to quickly leave the hospitality industry. Therefore, b ased on CT theory, t his study attempted to examine whether the relationship qualit y encountered by Generation Y during their internship impact s their job satisfaction, career decision and commitment to the hospitality ind ustry.
