In this paper we focus on low resources scenarios where standard solutions are inapplicable. We present a novel algorithm that exploits spacial correlation of neighbor pixels in an image to get the most accurate view of the moving scene without increasing computational burden. In conjunction with the proposed algorithm we investigate, to the best of our knowledge for the first time, several background models and update policies, comparing available approaches and exploring trade-offs between complexity and detection capability. 000008236 540__ $$aincorrect 000008236 592__ $$aHEIG-VD 000008236 592__ $$bReDS - Reconfigurable & embedded Digital Systems 000008236 592__ $$cIngénierie et Architecture 000008236 65017 $$aIngénierie 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$amotion detection 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$abiosensors 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$asensor phenomena and characterization 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$avideo sequences 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$aremote monitoring 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$acosts 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$aradio frequency 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$alighting 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$avery large scale integration 000008236 6531_ $$9eng$$avideo surveillance 000008236 655_7 $$apublished full paper 000008236 700__ $$aDassatti, Alberto$$uPolitecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy 000008236 700__ $$aMasera, Guido$$uPolitecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy 000008236 700__ $$aPiccinini, Gianluca$$uPolitecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy 000008236 711__ $$a3rd International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies: From Theory to Applications$$cDamascus, Syria$$d2008-04-07$$m2008-04-11 000008236 773__ $$tProceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies: From Theory to Applications 000008236 8564_ $$s616115$$uhttps://arodes.hes-so.ch/record/8236/files/Author%20postprint.pdf$$9aec73ae7-2909-40d8-baa4-b167421adb84 000008236 906__ $$aGREEN 000008236 909CO $$ooai:hesso.tind.io:8236$$pGLOBAL_SET 000008236 950__ $$aaucun 000008236 980__ $$aconference 000008236 981__ $$aconference
