Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) play a crucial role in automation by enabling real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and precise system control. This study focuses on the application of modern PLC technology in energy systems, highlighting its potential to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and flexibility. By analyzing advanced software platforms and communication protocols, we evaluate their impact on system performance, reliability, and adaptability. A case study demonstrates the implementation of a PLC-based remote monitoring and automation system for a Concentrated Photovoltaic Thermal (CPV-T) system, showcasing real-time control, data visualization, and performance optimization. The findings underline the significance of PLCs in advancing smart energy management, particularly within Industry 4.0 frameworks. This research provides insights into best practices for deploying and optimizing PLC-based automation solutions in renewable energy applications.
