Cet article consacré au quartier de Pont-Rouge dans le canton de Genève expose une méthode filmique multiforme mise en œuvre dans le cadre d’une étude commanditée. Cette dernière porte sur un projet pilote de cohésion sociale de proximité en milieu urbain porté par des administrations publiques. Le dispositif déployé a été pensé comme modalité de collecte de données, mise en forme et valorisation des résultats. Il mobilise des marches commentées filmées avec la coordinatrice de quartier, des vidéomatons réalisés avec les habitant·e·s et usager·ère·s afin de questionner leurs représentations de la cohésion sociale, ainsi que de l’observation filmante. Ces outils ont permis la réalisation du film de recherche, Pont-Rouge, état des lieux d’un nouveau quartier (26 minutes, 2023), qui participe plus globalement à un retour d’expérience sur la mise en service de ce nouveau quartier. Pensé en complément d’un rapport écrit, le film permet de présenter des éléments d’analyse issus du croisement entre méthodologies classiques (observation et entretien) et méthodologies visuelles. Il met ainsi en image la double polarisation du quartier et la présence d’effets de seuil pouvant constituer des freins à la cohésion sociale.
This article, focusing on the Pont-Rouge district in the canton of Geneva, describes a multi-faceted film method implemented as part of a commissioned study. The latter concerns a pilot project for local social cohesion in an urban environment supported by public administrations. The methodology deployed was conceived as a means of collecting data, formatting it and showcasing the results. It mobilizes filmed guided walks with the neighborhood coordinator, videobooth with inhabitants and users to question their representations of social cohesion as well as filming observation. These materials were used to produce the research film, Pont-Rouge, état des lieux d’un nouveau quartier (26 minutes, 2023), which is part of a wider feedback on the opening of this new neighborhood. Designed to dialogue with a written report, the film presents elements of analysis, based on a combination of traditional methodologies (observation and interviews) and visual methodologies. It illustrates the dual polarization of the district and the presence of threshold effects, elements which can hinder social cohesion.
