The current situation is unprecedented, because it is the only global recession driven solely by a pandemic and the decrease in life expectancy is the worst since World War II. This article first shows that the literature on the socioeconomic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic does not say much about working poverty. Applying a theoretical model presented in 2018 based on the four mechanisms that lead to working poverty (at the household level), this article considers the potential short- and mid-term implications of the pandemic for the working poor in Europe. It also proposes conceptual reflections about which working poverty indicators may improve our understanding of what has unfolded since the pandemic began. 000011460 540__ $$acorrect 000011460 592__ $$aHETS - Genève 000011460 592__ $$bCERES - Centre de recherche sociale 000011460 592__ $$cTravail social 000011460 592__ $$dTravail social 000011460 65017 $$aTravail social 000011460 6531_ $$9eng$$aworking poor 000011460 6531_ $$9eng$$ain-work poverty 000011460 6531_ $$9eng$$aCovid-19 000011460 6531_ $$9eng$$apandemic 000011460 6531_ $$9eng$$alabour market 000011460 655__ $$ascientifique 000011460 700__ $$aCrettaz, Eric$$uHaute école de travail social HETS Genève, HES-SO 000011460 773__ $$j2021, vol. 3, no. 161, pp. 7-24$$tSociologia del lavoro 000011460 85641 $$zversion en ligne$$uhttp://digital.casalini.it/10.3280/SL2021-161001 000011460 8564_ $$yversion publiée$$949574157-98d4-4db6-9319-fd1082ff4a8e$$s803315$$uhttps://arodes.hes-so.ch/record/11460/files/Crettaz_Impact_of_the_Covid-19_2021_2.pdf 000011460 906__ $$aNONE 000011460 909CO $$ooai:hesso.tind.io:11460$$pGLOBAL_SET 000011460 950__ $$aRevue par un comité de lecture 000011460 980__ $$ascientifique 000011460 981__ $$ascientifique
