ArODES HES-SO is the Open Archive of the faculties of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO).

Initiated in 2015 under the impetus of the Business, Management and Services faculty, it was then extended to all HES-SO faculties in 2017.

The objectives of ArODES are the following :

• ensure wide and fast spreading of research activities conducted within all HES-SO schools and institutes
• improve the visibility of researcher’s publications
• ensure stable access to research papers
• ensure sustainable archiving of research papers
• centralize research results
• align with the Swiss strategy on Open Access
• ease the collection of research-related indicators

The HES-SO Scientific Information Center (CISO) is in charge of ArODES and makes sure the data recorded by the various actors of the HES-SO libraries are consistent.

The HES-SO network staff can connect to ArODES with their SWITCH edu-ID login in order to access publications which distribution is otherwise restricted due to copyright. People external to the HES-SO cannot create an account or consult documents whose copyright does not permit their public distribution. However, they can contact the HES-SO authors by searching for their contact details in the HES-SO directory.
